THE HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM BIS 2020 enables an transportation of the acoustic, light and speech information.
This system fulfills:
- speech communication “patient-nurse”
- light/acoustic communication “nurse-nurse” and “nurse-doctor”
- call priority and call diverting
- listening to the musical and educational programmed

We distinguish following call types in the BIS 2020 system:

The common call
This call is of “patient-nurse” call type. It is delivered through the hand set (RS), and the nurse recognizes this call on the basis of acoustic presentation i room number display on the nurse panel (SP). Through this pult, the nurse can make speech communication with a patient, and quit the call.

The urgent SOS call
The SOS call is initiated with activation of pull-out SOS switch in the toilet/bathroom. The nurse recognizes it on the basis of acoustic presentation, which is different from the common call ones. The display of room number on the nurse panel (SP) is also different. This type of call, the nurse can not release on the SP, she have to go to the paging room and depress corresponding button in the room terminal (ST).

The nurse call
This call is so-called “nurse-nurse” call, and is activated on the corresponding push-button on the room terminal (ST). It has meaning of the urgent call, so it can not be realized on SP, but only on the corresponding ST. The nurse call can be transferred on one or more parallel nurse panels (PP).

The doctor call
This call enables to the nurse to call the doctor-in-charge (or some other doctor) in help from the patient room, directly. By depressing corresponding button on the ST, nurse informs the doctor acoustically and visually, that she needs a help. The doctor can quit this call, but final release can be done only in patient room on the ST.

Call diversing and nurse presence
These functions enables faster, simplier and more responsible work of medical staff.

The basic elements of BIS 2020 system are: nurse panel (SP), room terminal (ST), connecting terminal (PT), hand set (RS), room signal lamp (SSL), poll-out SOS switch, call combination (PK) and supply unit (NJ).
